WHY US

San Francisco Marine is a specialist underwater ship husbandry company founded in Miami by commercial divers. Operating on San Francisco Bay, we bring superyacht-grade hull cleaning, running gear maintenance, and underwater inspections directly to your slip.

Founded in Miami by commercial divers, San Francisco Marine built its reputation servicing some of the most demanding vessels in the world, like the 182 ft Gene Chaser, pictured above. Built by Damen Yachting, this floating laboratory for DNA sequencing and research is serviced by us, and was also the most traveled yacht of 2023.

Unlike general boat washers who treat diving as a side service, we focus strictly below the waterline. Every vessel we service on San Francisco Bay — from the Marina District and St. Francis Yacht Club to Sausalito, Alameda, and Emeryville — receives that exact same discipline and attention to detail.

• Strictly Underwater Specialists: We dedicate 100% of our work to underwater ship husbandry — hull bottom cleaning, propeller and running gear clearing, raw-water intake maintenance, anode replacement, propeller replacement, and underwater inspections.
• Lower Fuel Consumption: Marine fouling can increase fuel consumption up to 40%. Every cleaning covers your hull, propellers, shafts, keels, rudders, trim tabs, thrusters, waterline, and sea strainers so your vessel runs fast, cool, and vibration-free.
• No Haul-Out: Our commercial divers come directly to your marina slip, mooring, or private dock. There is no yard haul-out and no lost time on the water.
• Underwater Footage: Want to see what is happening below the waterline? We can provide clear underwater video footage of your hull, running gear, anodes, and sea strainers upon request.
• Reliable Service: Whether you are on a year-round maintenance plan or need a last-minute dive before a weekend cruise or regatta, we show up on time.
• Pay After Service: Transparent per-foot pricing starting at $5.50/ft, and you only pay after the service is completed. Payment can be done from the convenience of your phone with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
